Hatha is a Sanskrit word that can be broken down into two smaller words and two ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or the yoga of activity, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.”
Vinyasa is a vigorous practice that includes fluid transitions from pose to pose, linking body, breath, and movement. These classes are challenging, yet modifications are given for ALL LEVELS of practitioners. Expect to build strength, flexibility, and concentration while cleansing your body and calming your mind.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. The shape are held for 3-5 minutes, The sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine and as nadis in Yoga.
Yoga is all about balance. Through this practice we flow from yin practices to the more energetic styles of asana or visa versa depending on the time of day and the seasons. You will find yourself free and flowing with life after this balanced approach to the practice
The word Ashtanga is comprised of two Sanskrit words, “Ashta” and “Anga.” “Ashta” refers to the number eight, while “Anga” means limb or body part. Therefore, Ashtanga is the union of the eight limbs of yoga, into one complete, holistic system. Ashtanga is a very dynamic form of yoga, made up of six series or levels, with a fixed order of postures. It is rooted in vinyasa, the flowing movements between postures, with a focus on energy and breath.
Using the ancient techniques of Pranayama, organised in a specific way in ceremoney and accompanied to music and direct guidance of a facilitator, we use ourbodys own intuition and breath to achieve heightened states of conciousness, clear blocked traumas and set clear goals and intentions for our life.
